Helsinki is such a beautiful city. I have walked around the city for a couple of days. I ate baked goods with coffee, walked around "Tori", the old-fashioned market area with pretty shops and buildings and had a good ol' sauna as instructed by Maillis. I rode on the skywheel, a ferris wheel down at the water. It's beside a swimming pool--an outdoor one, filled with people having a swim. 3 degrees. I would have joined them if I had had my bathing suit with me!
On Sunday morning, I attended the Temppeliaukion Church nicknamed the"Rock Church" because it is inside excavated rock. It has a beautiful round ceiling with windows all around the periphery. I saw birds land on the rocks outside the windows while I was there. I originally had hoped to attend a concert while in Helsinki to hear the acoustics, and since there were none, I opted to attend a church service, hearing the choir, soloist, piano and organ. The acoustics, as expected, were amazing. Plus it's so beautiful in there.

I'm glad you went to that church. Its beautiful. Mom sang in that church on one of her choir trips. Sounds like you're having a great time.
